Technical Application Specialist

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE (Tasks, Routines, Expectations, Working Environment)                                                         

The purpose of this role is to provide Linux systems administration support ensuring the health of the customer’s servers.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES                                                                                                                        

  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Perform housekeeping tasks such as DB backup and restore, index maintenance, performance tuning and monitoring resource usage
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Use broad knowledge and experience of systems administration and networking principles to proactively prevent and address incidents while constantly improving documentation

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications, Language)                                                                          

  • Degree qualifications
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer qualifications and experience preferred
  • Language skills (English)

WORK EXPERIENCE (Technical Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)  

  • Strong Linux server administration skills with demonstrated ability to design, configure, document, maintain, operate and support Linux systems
  • Strong experience with Cloud server administration (preferably Azure)
  • Working level knowledge of R, Anaconda, and Shiny Server installation and configuration
