Business Analyst

THE ROLE:

  • The Business Analyst will represent the business and will work closely with a team of experienced stakeholders to define requirements;
  • You will collaborate with the technology team and stakeholders to deliver the feature in an Agile development environment;
  • You will represent the needs and wants of end-customers, Business Solutions team and other stakeholders whilst ensuring everyone is pulling toward the same goal;
  • The Business Analyst plays a critical role on our technology scrum teams which are delivering new technology for our internal and external customers. 
  • The ability to travel is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Defining new features;
  • Ensuring the product backlog is prioritised to ensure maximum business value;
  • Engaging with key customer stakeholders as required to ensure that all relevant inputs have been collected and prioritised;
  • Participating in the development of epics and user stories for all new functionality, presenting user stories to Business Solutions teams, and ensuring new functionality meets the acceptance criteria;
  • Ensuring agile teams develop against the user stories from the product backlog, participating in team planning meetings and provide advice, clarification and guidance during the execution of each phase;
  • Working with other Business Analysts to ensure dependencies are identified and prioritised appropriately across other features;
  • Developing acceptance criteria;
  • Inspecting, accepting or rejecting delivered features.


EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 or more years of experience of business analysis and processes. This should include analysis, design and documentation, using industry best practices and standards;
  • At least a year of experience in working with a scrum team and preferably working as the Business Analyst on that team;
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adjust to changing business needs by effectively working on more than one feature at a time;
  • Proven ability to identify and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders representing a broad range of functions and levels;
  • Excellent communication skills in facilitation of workshops;
  • Ability to deliver informative, well-organised and effective documentation and presentations;
  • Ideally a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or related work experience beyond the minimum required.
